Okay, but take it even further, though:

Saw someone on twitter call out the fact that Light doesn’t kill randomly. He predominantly kills people accused and/or convicted of crimes. He judges his victims based on news reports and police case files to determine who to kill. He doesn’t personally investigate the crimes himself.

So, yeah. The story does NOT translate well when it becomes “White guy purging prisons in America based off media reports” because yikes.
