okay, no, this is simply untrue and honestly a really harmful thing to say. i am deeply hurt and angered by the creation and production ideals behind the stonewall movie (which is why i haven’t even blogged about it much, it literally burns me with rage to think about) but regardless of the presence of black people, latinx people, other people of color, trans women, and lesbians/bi women, who ARE NOT getting accurate or respectful representation in this movie, we do not get to take a dump on cis gay men of any race who were in fact at that bar, on that night, and who did in fact get arrested and terrorized by cops on a daily basis due to their sexuality and expression of it for decades or more preceding the riots, right alongside other members of the lgbt community. that’s literally just a reality. they are/were also oppressed.
