This is Mike Adams. He is a professor of Criminology at UNCW and he posted this to his personal facebook on Monday.

For context, the week before, the Feminist Student Alliance on campus organized a positivity protest against a radical anti-abortion group that two student organizations (Ratio Christi and College Republicans) brought to campus. They put up massive posters showing photos of aborted fetuses next to pictures of the holocaust and other genocides. They also harassed students and told them false information like that Planned Parenthood is a eugenics organization and that pregnancy cannot result from rape

We were worried about students being triggered, so we set up a counter-protest of positivity. Some of it was posters with things like “my body/ my choice” and handing out Planned Parenthood flyers, but most of it was complimenting people on their way to class, handing out candy, and holding up posters with cute facts like “a group of bunnies is called a fluffle.” The goal was to give people that security bubble of positive vibes so their day wouldn’t be ruined by the images. 

So this was about 4 days after that protest. Around the same time he posted this, he also made a post on his blog saying that our group was “illegally” trying to remove GAP from campus (we weren’t), that a professor organized the protest (she didn’t) and that we needed to be “caged back” because we were planning on physically stopping people from talking to GAP (that was never a thing). He also called us animals. 

The reason he can get away with this is because, a few years back, he sued the school for “political discrimination” and won tenure, and now they’re afraid to make any kind of move against him. That’s how he’s gotten away with calling the lesbian director of the LGBTQIA+ office the “husband” in her “marriage” (quotations his) and how he can say things like the Black Student Union is only good for basketball players. He has called a trans student “it” to her face in front of her whole class. He refused to report it when a student told him she was raped because he thought she was lying and wanted to stick it to the feminists. 

And now this. 

I’m sharing this post because I honestly don’t know how serious to take it. This man distorts reality so much in what he says. He blatantly lies. He’s violently racist, misogynistic and homophobic, transphobic, and everything else you can imagine. He has friends in Ratio Christi who send harassing emails and threats to people I know. And UNCW, my university, lets him get away with all of it. So I’m scared. I have no idea where his line is. But I know this crosses mine.
