My cat Shady had a horrible night Friday night. He was yowling every five minutes because he was in so much pain! He was breathing fast & couldn’t make himself comfortable until he finally passed out from exhaustion around 3am. He couldn’t eat or even hold down water without vomitting. I had to get him to a doctor as soon as possible! The Humane Society (where I usually take him) was booked so they referred me to Saint Francis Animal Hospital. They took us in even though we didn’t have an appt. and actually saw Shady quite quickly. They were able to diagnose & treat him right away. Unfortunately Shady was very sick. He had urinary tract blockage (which had to be taken care of right away!) Even though it was a costly proceedure (around $900-$1000) that I could not afford, they were willing to work with me. Shadys’ health was their primary concern. His life was at risk! They explained his condition & what needed to be done. They were so helpful. They went above and beyond. Even after I was denied for Carecredit for pets they helped me find a solution. I was able to make a down payment towards his care even though they usually need to be paid in full up front. I think because it was a life or death situation and I didn’t have any other options. They did this for us with the promise that I would raise the rest of the money through fund raising. Which is why I am writing this post… I am so grateful to Saint Francis animal hospital & their wonderful staff (especially Van Quang; who was so patient & understanding with me), I intend to keep my word & ask anyone from the bottom of my heart to please donate anything you can put towards the care of my baby Shady.
